Job Overview

Gulf Business Development Group is seeking a qualified Fiber Optic and Telecom Technician to support operations in Al Khor, Qatar. The role is responsible for fiber optic installation, testing, and the maintenance of telecommunications and extra-low voltage (ELV) systems across onshore and offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic cable pulling, fusion splicing, mechanical termination, and testing using OTDR and optical power meters.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A), Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) systems, CCTV surveillance, Access Control Systems (ACS), and radio communications (TETRA, VHF, UHF).
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in compliance with oil and gas industry safety and operational standards.
• Support commissioning teams during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Provide technical coverage during plant shutdowns, emergency call-outs, and rotational offshore deployments.
• Prepare daily work logs and technical reports while ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Technology or Engineering in Electronics or Telecommunications.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant technical experience in fiber optics and telecommunication systems.
