Job Overview

SPAR Qatar WLL is seeking a dedicated Fish Monger to join their team in Doha. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing unique customer shopping experiences, preparing and filleting seafood products, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide unique customer shopping experiences, maximizing sales and profitability through attractive displays and excellent communication.
• Prepare and fillet a range of fish and seafood products according to specifications.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels, management, rotation, and freshness to maximize sales.
• Ensure compliance with all food hygiene legislation, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Maximize customer understanding, greeting, and service standards.
• Provide advice, guidance, and recommendations on products, cooking, and usage.
• Monitor the receiving and unloading of stock, confirming quality, dates, counts, and condition.
• Work closely with the kitchen to manage supplies and minimize waste.
• Handle customer complaints and report feedback to management.
• Train, motivate, and mentor other staff involved in the fish counter operations.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the fishing industry, including species, seasons, markets, and environmental standards.
• Excellent knife skills with the ability to prepare whole fish efficiently.
• Passionate about quality food and interested in product development.
• Comfortable interacting with the public and providing excellent service.
• Effective team player with a strong sense of discipline and urgency.
• Enthusiastic and professional approach to work tasks.

Education and Experience

• High school or intermediate school certificate.
• At least 2 years of experience in the related field.
