Job Overview

Y.K Almoayyed and Sons is seeking a qualified Design and Estimation Engineer to join its team in Manama, Bahrain. The role involves designing comprehensive HVAC systems and preparing detailed cost estimates and commercial tenders for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
• Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting layouts, piping layouts, and equipment schedules.
• Select suitable HVAC equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, ducted units, and ventilation systems.
• Perform duct sizing and ventilation calculations.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities (BOQ) to ensure project compliance.
• Prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and BOQ.
• Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, accessories, and installation materials.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for equipment and materials.
• Calculate material costs, labor costs, installation charges, and project expenses.
• Prepare cost sheets, pricing schedules, commercial quotations, and quotation comparison sheets.
• Identify project exclusions, deviations, and potential commercial risks.
• Follow up on submitted quotations and respond to client queries.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system design, equipment selection, estimation, costing, and tendering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and cost estimation skills.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in HVAC design, estimation, costing, and tendering.
